1945-
W.H. (Hoyt) Lyons started the family tradition in 1945. After several years in the propane industry Hoyt went into business for himself in Alto, Texas. Later his businesses expanded into Lufkin, Grapeland and Carthage, Texas.

Hoyt's Son, Dwight Lyons, joined the business after graduating from Alto High School and Business College in Tyler, Texas. Dwight, spent his time learning the ins and outs of the propane business. He did it all! From delivering propane, setting tanks to running the propane line.

Dwight has remained a part of the industry all these years and is still working today.

1986
Alto Butane Co., Inc was purchased and the Lyons family was back in Alto, where it all originated.

1989-1999
Keeping the family tradition alive, Dwight's son Steven joined the family business in 1989 and was shortly followed by Dwight's daughter Gayla in 1999.

Dwight has proudly passed along all of his experience, knowledge and expertise to his children.

2007
Tullos Propane in Apple Springs, Texas was purchased and is now part of the Lyons LP Gas family

Now
Lyon's Propane services the East Texas area with 4 locations and will continue offering the expertise from multiple generations of propane knowledge.
